Fall Front Porch Styling

Welcome, Fall!

Front porches and Southern living pretty much go hand-in-hand. But there is a trick to decorating your porch for the fall: keep it simple.

Sure, you can pile pumpkins and hay bales and add wooden Welcome signs, but you can also add a few simple, thoughtfully selected items to give your porch a fall refresh that is not only beautiful but also budget-friendly, can easily transition into the next season, and doesn’t take up a whole section of your garage or attic to store.

Handmade Magnolia Wreath

A simple, handmade wreath will add warmth and welcome to any front porch. If you aren’t crafty, try purchasing a pre-made wreath (like the one pictured above) and hang on an -over-the-door wreath hanger or a plastic suction cup hook (my favorite wreath hanger is this one on Amazon) I love the magnolia wreath because it can easily transition into winter or even spring simply by swapping out different colored ribbon.

Colorful Ribbons & BOws

Hello, fall colors! Put the finishing touch on your fall wreath by adding a simple ribbon bow. I can honestly think of a million ways to use this set of soft, textured silk chiffon ribbon that I found on Amazon!

Plaid Throw Pillow Cover

Instead of buying new pillows every season, add seasonal texture and color with pillow covers. They also take up a lot less room to store than a pillow does. Be sure to measure your pillows carefully before placing your order.I love the fringed edges on these woven weave covers for a little boho vibe.

Coir Welcome Mat

Give your houseguests a Southern welcome with a fresh welcome mat at the front door. I am always a fan of the coir mats because I don’t feel as bad throwing them out once they have “worn out their welcome” because the natural fibers will break down over time, unlike rubber mats.

Seagrass Basket

Place a sea grass or hyacinth basket near the front door with dried pampas grass or place it next to a rocking chair with a cozy throw blanket inside. Either way, a natural weave basket is the perfect addition to a coastal front porch no matter the season.
